In this class you will learn about how to design small houses and how to create a tasteful interior design for the house. You will learn the different types of drawing methods and how to use computer aided design to create floor plans, interior rooms and exterior walls and roofs. A small foray into a product design life cycle will also be provided to learn the basic understanding of a design process.
This leads to 10 DVC where we use a mixture of computers and hand drawing skills to create and to go deeper into the design initiatives. There will be a product and spatial design component.
A designer or builder.
DDM means digital design and media. You will learn how to create digital images for apps, websites and print. You will learn how to use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. For DVC you will study designers and their work, learn how to design using 2 and 3D sketching techniques and 2 and 3D CAD using sketchup and Solidworks, this will build on your work done in year 9. You will combine both digital and graphics skills to produce a project of your choice which will include, business cards, posters, product designs/ architectural designs.
Year 11 DVC.
DVC iis linked to the creative industries pathway and is for those students who work or study in visual arts or technicians in the design and development of products, including communications such as magazines, product advertisement, film as well as design of the built environment. This pathway includes those who work in film and digital technologies such as app development and web pages and in events management, including heritage and cultural areas as well as architectural design.
