This class is focused on what movement is, the different styles of movement (eg: differences between hip hop and contemporary etc), and how to dance endurance, confidence, and personal fitness through movement. The main focus will be on understanding different parts of the body - how to isolate and target different areas for effect. There will be elements of allowing your body to respond to music, to move your body within a specific space, and to encourage students to simply take delight in dance and movement.
Year 10 Dance.
All of these courses are pathways for NCEA level 1 and beyond. They will each provide students with the skills they need to be successful in dance.
