where the students go to practice old contests (prior to the date of the "real thing")
where students go on the day of the challenge to do the "real thing"
On the day of, students will carry out the majority of their days like normal, however during period 3 students will be called down to the cafeteria (the overflow who don't make it into the cafeteria will receive further instructions there.). Mr. Swaine and his wonderful volunteers will be waiting to assist. Students will be seated in alphabetical order by first name. At the seats there will be a device with some papers explaining the basics, how to start the challenge and a very important one, containing their login details. Once all students are settled Mr. Swaine will direct students on how to log in (in case the papers were not clear enough) and when to start the challenge. Students are encouraged to use the back of the instructional paper to do their rough work on. The students will work for roughly 45 minutes (some may finish earlier), at the end of which they will go back to class or stay depending on when they finished. Below are some pictures of what the cafeteria looked like during the 2022 challenge.
Below, there are some photos of the teams of awesome people who went out to elementary schools over the years to teach younger students how to participate in the Beaver CC. Our Blazers did an amazing job preparing the elementary participants for the challenge. If you are thinking of ever doing this outreach then these blazers are the perfect role models to look up to!
