Description:

The position holder will working under the direct supervision of the Project Manager to implement the project interventions at field and office level. According to the project need the SMs will work closely with the key stakeholders including communities Organizations and the line departments for facilitation of project activities. This multi-tasking job and the position holder will be required to work with multi-dimensional approach i.e. mobilization, advocacy, awareness raising, networking and coordination at field level.

Under the project, Laar Humanitarian and Development Programme will ensure and committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment throughout the project. Major Responsibilities:

  • Conducting Area Profiling and Identification of Villages/Revenue Villages for Project Interventions

  • Formation of the Community Organization (COs), Farmer Field Schools (FFS) in the targeted villages as per set criteria developed in the project

  • Frequent meetings with COs, FFS for planning of new actions under the respective project

  • Regular field visits and conduct the community meetings frequently in project selected villages

  • Support the technical team of the project i.e. Agriculture and Livestock Officers in identification of beneficiaries, sites for demonstration plots and conducting trainings and sessions at community level

  • Community mobilization in consultation with the project staff under the supervision of the Project Manager

  • Facilitate COs, FFS in maintaining and updating the relevant records as per prescribed tools and templates

  • Deliver trainings and sessions on drought –resistant agriculture farming, at village and cluster of villages level

  • Collect data as required by the project as per prescribed formats being issued by Project Manager, time to time.

  • Facilitate linkages between line departments and formed COs, FFS

  • Preparation of Periodic Reports (Qualitative and Quantitative)

  • Preparation of weekly/Monthly Implementation Plan

Qualifications and Experience:

The following requirement for this position

Academic Qualification:

Bachelors (14 years of education) in relevant disciplines like Social Science/ Social Work/ Economics/Agriculture or equal degree with at least two years’ experience

or

Intermediate (12 years of education) with 4 years of relevant experience

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Good Understanding of Climate Change and DRR

  • Excellent Mobilization and Sensitizations

  • Sound knowledge of local issues of small holder farmers.

  • Experience of FGD, Data Collection, Field Assessments and Survey

  • Basic Computer Skills, Ms. Office, Internet

  • Excellent Reporting Skills

  • Excellent Coordination and Correspondence Skills

  • Sensitivity and sound knowledge of the Rights based approach

Key Relationships:

Main Internal contacts:

The position holder will primarily work with the Project Manager, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, Livestock Officer and Agriculture Officer. The incumbent will secondarily work with the consultation of Logistic, Procurements, Admin and Finance Staff, where and when required and will follow the organization’s functional chart/organogram.

External Contacts:

The position needs to be in close coordination of partner communities at field level and other stakeholder including line departments, media persons and civil society forums/organizations.
