During the academic year (2021-22) LGfL offered the chance for schools to pilot the Sandbox AR platform first hand for themselves.
Experience had told us that giving teachers the freedom to explore the application of immersive technology within their own school context delivers the best results for the school and LGfL. We (Discovery/LGfL) hoped they would take the technology in to directions we had not even conceived and they didn't disappoint!

'I have a child in my class who is selective mute. She wrote her dialogue with a partner for her WW2 news story that used a Sandbox-generated backdrop to the video. I enabled her to practice this in another room because she will speak in front of her peers, just not in front of adults. She allowed a third child to record the dialog so she was fully participating. And it was actually the first time that I'd heard her voice.'

The following schools explored the Sandbox AR platform with their KS2 pupils to support a variety of topics across the curriculum; the impact secured suggests the platform has significant potential across the curriuclum for many age ranges in schools.
