'I have a child in my class who is selective mute. She wrote her dialogue with a partner for her WW2 news story that used a Sandbox-generated backdrop to the video. I enabled her to practice this in another room because she will speak in front of her peers, just not in front of adults. She allowed a third child to record the dialog so she was fully participating. And it was actually the first time that I'd heard her voice.'

Recognise that staff will all be at different starting points of that journey. Set the expectation - something everybody can achieve. Then structure your staff to support each other in such a way that the expectation will keep rising and you can keep placing new challenges in. And the way you do that is by sharing what has been happening.
