A very quiet December on the sports front.  The girls' football team was supposed to play Trinity at the beginning of the month, but the match was cancelled due to bad weather and a very damp pitch. This match will be played after Christmas, probably at Therfield on their Astroturf, potentially under lights!

Our boys Under 10 team had their first outing on Wednesday 20th December, when they played the Brookfield team at their school.  The final score was 4-1 to Brookfield.  Miss Hendra said she was very impressed with the teamwork shown by the boys.  She said they played very well and made West Ashtead proud. 

The Indoor Athletics team for the January competition has been selected, please check your emails, Year 5 and 6 parents!  The children have been practising during their PE lessons with Miss Hendra. 

Some exciting news for the Spring term too - Swimming lessons are starting up again.  Year 3 will be going to St Johns to participate in lessons after Christmas, followed by Year 4 and then Year 5. 

There is also a Tag Rugby tournament coming up for the girls in the Spring term. 

All the children who have been part of a team this term have represented West Ashtead with pride.  Well done to all of you!
