Our Eco School
This half term we have been reviewing our recycling at West Ashtead. We have been spot checking classrooms to ensure that everyone is trying their best. The Eco council have also been working hard on some inspirational posters to go around the school explaining how to recycle and the importance of doing so.
The Eco Council have also supported Mrs Packham in writing our new Active Travel Policy, promoting the use of sustainable travel at West Ashtead. This can be found on the school's website under Our School> Policies.
Throughout the half term Years 2 to 6 have been working towards our school's anti-idling initiative, completing online workshops and creating posters to go around our school and outside our school gates. We have learned about the importance of switching off car engines for both our own health and that of the environment. All students at West Ashtead ask that if you are waiting in your car, you have your engine turned off.
