YEAR 4

Year 4 have been studying the book 'Mama Miti'.  It is a book about a woman who inspired women all around Kenya to plant trees.  We created a collage of a tree and a landscape and then wrote a poem about the women coming to Wangari for help.  We are proud of how they turned out!

In Science we have been learning about circuits.  We put this knowledge to good use in our DT project - creating a Christmas light. There are some very creative children in Year 4!

2024 MULTIPLICATION TABLES CHECK

Year 4 will be again be taking part in the statutory Multiplication Tables Check in the summer term. All children are expected to know their tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of year 4. Please support your child to become as fluent as possible as this will increase their confidence across every area of Maths.

HOME LEARNING EXPECTATIONS

Over the Christmas break, please continue to encourage your child to read and practise their times tables.

We have made it successfully to the end of a very long, but exciting and fun term.  The children have been amazing and have thrown themselves into all that Year 4 has to offer.  We wish you a wonderful Christmas and New Year and we'll see you in 2024 for more fun!

Mrs Houghton and Ms McCrossan

Owls finished Indoor PE for the term by using the wall bars, ropes and practising balances on equipment.  We had lots of fun.
