Shawley Uniform
Shawley Uniform
All children at Shawley are expected to wear the correct uniform every day. Uniform can be viewed using the online shop. Please use the link below: https://www.casualschoolwear.co.uk/product-category/shawley-school/.
Uniform Expectations
All children at Shawley are expected to wear our school uniform which is both simple and inexpensive. We believe this shared identity helps children to work together for a common goal and to develop a sense of pride in being a member of the school community. Please mark all items of clothing with your child's name.
If you do not have internet access at home an order form may be obtained from the school office. Please remember to label all clothing with your child's name.
All children should wear:
Shawley Community Primary School sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece
Grey long trousers for boys / shorts in the summer months
Grey skirt, pinafore dress or trousers for girls / blue and white gingham dress in the summer months
White polo shirt, plain or with the school logo
Black sensible school shoes (trainers and boots should not be worn for school)
Grey socks (boys)
White socks or grey tights for girls
Children in Reception classes only may wear grey jogging bottoms instead of trousers, skirt or pinafore
PE Uniform
On PE days, children should wear their school PE kit to school. They will stay in this all day.
Royal blue PE shorts
Pale blue ‘T’ shirt with logo
Royal blue PE hoodie/jumper/cardigan
Jogging bottoms/leggings (in cooler weather). These should be either the royal blue ones available from our uniform supplier or a plain dark colour (black or navy)
School PE bag with logo
Hairstyling
All shoulder length/long hair must be tied back using a plain black, white or blue hair band or scrunchie. No other hair accessories should be worn. We politely request that hair is not shaved with patterns in it during term time.
Jewellery
Children should not wear jewellery to school. If children must wear earrings because their ears are recently pierced, then a small pair of plain studs may be worn. Children will not be allowed to take part in any physical education lessons if they are wearing earrings of any kind in line with the Surrey County Council regulations.
Make Up
No make-up of any kind, including nail varnish, should be worn to school. If your child needs to wear any kind of lip balm or salve, this should be plain rather than tinted or coloured.
Other relevant information
We provide aprons with sleeves for children to wear for messy work, but it is inevitable that they will still sometimes get paint on their clothes. This usually washes out but red and black can be a problem!
As we use the grassed area throughout the year we ask parents to provide a labelled pair of wellies that can be kept at school. We also ask that all children have a named waterproof coat in school ALL YEAR as we go outside whatever the weather.
The uniform order form is currently not available online. Please print it off, fill it in and return them to the school office. Copies of these are available at the school office so if you are unable to print them please do collect a copy.
