We need to know if your child has any health problems or allergies. You will be asked to complete a medical/health information form - See link here.
We regularly cook food with the children so please let us know if there is any food that your child cannot eat.
What happens if my child is unwell?
If your child is ill at school we will contact you. It is therefore important for us to have up to date emergency contact numbers (at least two). Please inform us immediately if these details change.
If your child bangs his/her head while at school we will send home a red note explaining how it happened and the treatment that was given. If the head injury was significant a call home will be made.
In the event of a serious injury parents will be informed immediately and, if necessary, an ambulance called. Minor cuts and grazes are dealt with at school.
If your child is unwell with sickness or diarrhoea we have a rule that the child does not return to school until 48 hours have passed since the last bout of illness. This is to help prevent the spread of infection.
Site Security
The entrance to the Early Years Unit is kept locked for security. The door can easily be opened from the inside but this prevents unauthorised access from outside.
The school car park is very hazardous with cars and delivery vehicles arriving and leaving throughout the day. Please do not use the car park for your car or as a short cut to the front of the school. There have been several near misses and we fear that an accident will happen unless parents avoid this area with their children. Please use the pedestrian entrance and walk around the outside of the school, using the access path to the Unit.
We urge all parents to be especially aware of the wall at the side of the steps leading up to the Early Years Unit from the terrace.
Please ensure that before and after school you use the access path at all times and be particularly careful with pre-school children. Do not allow your children to climb on the wall.
Please do not park your car on the yellow zig-zag lines outside the school. They must be kept clear at all times so that there is always clear visibility for crossing the road. Please also be considerate to our neighbours when parking your car outside the school.
Children should not play on the Trim Trail unless they are supervised by a member of staff so please do not allow your children to use the Trim Trail out of school hours.
