This week's learning......
English - In English, Year 6 have been planning, and beginning to write, their own narrative. This is their own version of a section from the book Holes by Louis Sachar. We have been concentrating on the use of dialogue to convey character and advance the action.
Maths - In maths, Year 6 have been investigation multiples, factors and prime numbers. All extremely helpful for our fractions unit which is coming up next week. Times tables knowledge is key to their success in maths so please encourage your child to regularly practise.
Science- In science, Year 6 have been learning about the plant kingdom and how they are organised based on shared characteristics.
Art- This week the children have been designing their product packaging. They have begun to dismantle their boxes in preparation for painting next week.
History - In History, Year 6 have been learning about 'significant people' what that means and who is significant for them. They then learnt more about the leader of the Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranji Singh, and wrote their own information text about his life and his remarkable achievements.
Upcoming learning......

History - In history, we will be focusing our learning on how interpretations of events shape our understanding with a specific focus on the Sikh Empire.
