What a great few weeks year 6 have had! From writing their own balanced arguments and narratives to becoming avid inventors during science week, they surely have been busy.
In English, year 6 were tasks with writing their own balanced arguments persuading the reader to either save the German pilot or watch him suffer. They loved getting into role and debating with their peers and this really helped when writing formally.
During Science week last week, the children became their own inventors. They had to design their own 'Car for the Future'. Some of their creations were brilliant!
The year 6s were also lucky to have an art workshop based on 'photography' by a company called Starsnappers. They learnt all about the studio equipment and the dynamic angle in portraits. They enjoyed becoming models in a range of diffrent ways; theatrical Hat shot in which the children photograph each other and the ‘Hollywood’ Portrait. The most difficult of the portraits to master but if they get their posing just right it can be quite magical.
