As usual, we have had an action-packed fortnight! Last week was so exciting with the science experiments we carried out as part of science week. Both classes took part in a mixture of experiments. The best foil boat was made by Katriel and Umair - it held 146 little people before it sank! The collection of rainbow things from nature was challenging, but luckily Miss McIntyre had some tricks up her sleeve to help find the colours! Testing for the best tea bag material was fun if a little messy and we discovered that jay cloth makes the best tea bag but we still weren't tempted to drink the tea! It was also great being plant detectives! Huge congratulations to Charlie who one last Friday's Red Nose Day raffle for Y1.
The excitement spilled into the start of this week with our photography workshop which the children really enjoyed - I'm sure you'll be impressed with their photographs when you get to see them! Our maths this week is all about division - we are learning to share out amounts equally. And for the next couple of weeks in Literacy, we will be aiming to make our own non-fiction books all about the Great Fire of London but first, we had to sort and explore what features these books have.
