Year 4 have been very busy and enjoyed Science Week and our recent trip to North Cheam Baptist Church. During Science Week, we explored eight different experiments that included floating raisins, making toothpaste, growing cress, making a paper boat move using dish soap and seeing the effect exercise has on our bodies. We visited North Cheam Baptist Church for the Easter Experience, a interactive presentation of the Holy Week and later asked the cast questions about what happened. In English, we have been continuing to study the story of Beowulf and used it to create our own epic poem. In Maths, we have been learning how to measure the area of the shapes using squared units. As well as our Science Week activities we have also been identifying animal teeth and exploring why the diet of the animals influences the type of teeth they have. In topic, we have been discovering the events of the Battle of Hastings which lead to the end of Anglo-Saxon and Viking rule of Britain. We are looking forward to our workshop next Tuesday.
