Latest changes to Government guidance will affect procedures at Brookfield.
If your child has the common Covid symptoms (high temperature, continuous new cough or loss of taste/smell) then please keep them at home and order a PCR test. Anyone with symptoms should take a PCR test, stay at home and follow government guidance if positive. From Thursday 24th February, the government have removed the legal requirement to self-isolate following a positive test, however people who have tested positive will continue to be advised to stay at home for five full days and then receive two negative LFT test results on consecutive days before returning to school. Please inform the school of absence and the outcome of the PCR test by phoning the office.
Free PCR test kits for those who have symptoms, can be obtained online via https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test. Test results, both positive and negative, should be recorded online with gov.uk.
The advice for staff at schools to take a LFD test twice a week has now stopped (as of 21st February), and so we will not be asking staff to do so. The school will continue with a number of safety measures, ensuring indoor spaces are well ventilated, the promotion of good hygiene and heightened cleaning regimes. We will continue to review the situation weekly and are prepared to implement further contingency measures if advised to do so by Local Public Health.
If further advice is released by the Government that affects safety measures at the school then we will update you.
