In Maths, Year 3 have been learning to identify British coins and they have learned to add and subtract amounts of money in different ways. They have used their reasoning skills to solve word problems involving money. This has been very useful during our Financial Education lesson as we had a budget of £10, £20 or £30 to buy 2, 3 or 5 items from a list and we had to make decisions as to what we wanted to buy or what we actually needed to buy. In English children have written a set of instructions about how to make a mummy, using technical vocabulary and making sure all the instructions were in chronological order. We then used flipgrid to record our instructions.
We had our Ancient Egyptian day on Tuesday and we all dressed up as Egyptians. We made masks, decoded hieroglyphics, and we finished the day and this exciting topic with an amazing workshop from the Freshwater Company. What a fantastic day we all had!
Children performed amazingly at their djembe concert on Wednesday after their weekly practice with Mr Donal. What a treat!
Next term we will begin our swimming lessons on Mondays, so remember to bring a swimming costume, goggles and a towel.
Year 3 would like to wish you a very happy and peaceful Easter break.
