Year 2 have had a jammed packed 7 weeks this Spring Term and across the final few weeks we have been having a lot of fun!
In RE, we have been been looking at the Easter Story. The children have showed great interest through asking a range of questions based on the topic. We have also discussed the symbols of Easter and have shared some hot cross buns and Easter eggs too! These were delicious! In maths, we have consolidated our learning about 2D and 3D shapes. The children have been using the physical shapes to explore their properties, including: number of edges, number of vertices and number / type of faces. To make learning even more fun, we used the shapes to create our own models and then discussed what shapes we used in order to create these models.
During science this half term, we have been learning about animals and their food chains. We looked at food chains for a variety of animals and we also discussed the process behind them. The children showed a great understanding of the terminology used in them, for example: predator, prey, consumer, producer. We first created a food chain on our chromebook using the software Google Jamboard. This really help the children to reproduce their own food chain for a snowy owl.
