Year 4 have enjoyed helping to set a record for live streaming with Times Tables Rockstars this week. We took part in a countrywide Rock and Rolling Numbers event which was awarded a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records. and helped us with our times table recall as well. In the rest of our Maths learning, we have been creating bar graphs and line graphs and using this data to answer questions and find differences. In Writing, we have been using the book 'The Firework maker's Daughter' to write a piece of narrative about a journey from the Emerald Lake to Mount Merapi through a dense jungle. We have been focusing on using figurative language such as similes, metaphors and personification to enrich our work. In our humanities work, we have explored changes in our local area over time and the physical and human features of the UK. We then compared the UK with India and produced a poster about India comparing such geographical features as area, population, rivers, mountains and lakes. We also enjoyed working outside on National Outdoor Learning Day, completing outdoor learning challenges, times tables challenges, planting our bee bombs and even sitting under a tree to listen to information about Buddha and the Eightfold Path.
