At Brookfield we are working towards our Rights Respecting Schools silver award and children are learning about the rights of the child.

This week we have been thinking of the recent events in Ukraine and our response to the crisis. We understand this is an incredibly difficult subject which might make children feel worried so we are addressing this with caution.

The Articles 38 and 39 tell us that children have the right to protection and freedom from war and they cannot be forced to take part in wars.

Each week, a child in each class will be rewarded with a certificate for their efforts to contribute to one of the articles in our charter.
