The whole school had a fantastic day last Thursday celebrating World Book Day. Children and staff came dressed in their book character costumes and spent the day enjoying listening to stories, making bookmarks, acting out stories and much more!
Year 5 have thoroughly enjoying their bikeability lessons this week.
Thank you @BikeabilityUK for providing these invaluable lessons! We've had loads of positive feedback and excitement when they return.
On Tuesday 1st March a team of 4 KS2 children attended Cheam Park Farm to take part in the first heat of the Quiz Club General Knowledge quiz. The team were a bit nervous, as well as excited, before they arrived but soon settled into the competitive environment. They had to answer 30 very challenging questions on a huge range of subjects and as each round concluded they were rewarded by seeing Brookfield Primary in the top half of the leaderboard. It was evident that they worked brilliantly as a team when, after the final round, when they were declared the winners. They are now looking forward to finding out when the next heat will take place and we'll all have our fingers crossed for them.
Brookfield pupils will be participating in the country’s biggest inter-school walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling competition.
The Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel takes place on the 21st March to 1st April 2022 and aims to highlight the benefits an active school run can have on children and young people’s physical and mental health as well as the environment.

Sadly, we are again bringing to your attention the dangerous and inconsiderate parking on Ridge Road, Beeches Road and the surrounding roads outside school. I know pick up and drop off times are difficult and very busy due to large amounts of children on our site, however a small minority of parents from the school, are still parking without any thought for our local residents or parents walking their children to school.
We have been receiving complaints from residents very unhappy about cars being parked across their drives, on white lines, double dropped kerbs and near junctions. This parking can pose a safety risk to pupils and parents that do walk/cycle/scooter to school, as well as to other road users.
We are an eco school, I would like to encourage parents and pupils to use more sustainable modes of travel to get to school where this is possible. I do understand that parents or carers will sometimes need to drive their children to school, however, I would urge where possible for parents/guardians to park away from the school and then walk in.
Please could you think of the safety of ALL our children and refrain from parking across residents driveways as this is an offence which could also result in a Penalty Charge Notice.
Thank you in advance for you support in this important issue and let’s hope together we can ensure the safety of the children and be more considerate to our local residents.
The children have been working hard on their Doodle maths/ English and times tables both at home and at school which is great!
