In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been recapping simple adding before moving on to learn column addition with renaming.
Writing - we have written riddles about the different crayons from "The Day the Crayons Quit".
Reading - in reading this week, the children have focused on decoding unfamiliar words and then discussing their meaning.
Geography - in our new topic, Our Wonderful World, the children have been learning all about Oceania and Asia
Science - in our topic Materials, the children have looked at what happens to solids when they are heated.
Art - we have been collecting natural objects to study and practice our line drawing.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be recapping simple subtraction and then looking at learning column subtraction.
Writing - the children will be writing letters from Duncan back to his crayons.
Reading - we will continue to focus on our decoding skills to ensure the children are as fluent as possible when reading new or unfamiliar words.
Geography - in our topic, Our Wonderful World, the children will be looking at Europe and seeing what makes it unique.
Science - in our topic Materials, the children will be looking at manipulating different materials and seeing which changes are reversible and which are irreversible.
