In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about identifying and sorting different 3D shapes by the amount of edges, vertices and faces they have.
Writing - we have recapped all the writing skills from over the last few weeks before starting to plan and write our own story based on the book 'Leaf'..
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children have been looking at natural features of the local area..
Science - in their topic of Micro-habitats, the children created an experiment to discover if woodlice prefer damp or dry conditions.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be continuing our topic on shape by creating patterns with 3D shapes.
Writing - we will continue our writing journey by planning, writing and then editing the beginning, middle and end of our stories.Â
Reading - we will look at different styles of vocabulary and inference questions and working our how to find the answers in the text.
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children will look at writing as a geographer to describe the different human and physical features of the local area.
Science - we will be exploring what it means to be a botanist.
