Year 6 have had a busy fortnight! In English, they've been busy becoming legal eagles, drafting persuasive letters to Stanley Yelnats' lawyer to try and free him from Camp Green Lake! Maths lessons saw some impressive measuring and converting skills on display as the children tackled centimetres, metres, litres and millilitres. The science lab was buzzing with investigations into light and reflection, with a fascinating exploration of periscopes and the everyday uses of mirrors. Our geographers took their learning outside with a local walk, comparing the environmental impact of high and low population density areas. Financial education took a thrilling turn as the children transformed into fraud detectives, analysing evidence to uncover how scams work. Finally, in DT, taste buds were tingling during flavour experiments to discover the perfect pairings and contrasts - all in preparation for their exciting "Come Dine With Me" event next week.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Percentages
Writing - We will be starting our new text Letters From The Lighthouse
Reading - focusing on vocabulary and understanding of the text.
Science - We will be starting evolution and inheritance
