Year 5 have enjoyed another fun-packed couple of weeks. Our Year 5 scientists have been busy delving into the world of irreversible changes. They've watched exciting experiments, burning various materials like foil, wood, and card. Through observation and analysis, they've learned how these materials transform into new substances. In geography, they embarked on a local study of Cheam and drew maps of the area. They explored its landmarks and looked at all the facilities that Cheam has to offer. Back in the classroom, they compared Cheam to Innsbruck, Austria, looking at the climate, vegetation and leisure opportunities. Finally, they chose their favoured location. Inspired by the heartwarming tale of "The Last Bear," our Year 5 writers have penned heartfelt letters to Granny Apples. They've shared their thoughts, feelings, and hopes for the future, demonstrating their ability to express themselves clearly and creatively. Finally, our Year 5 readers have brought the classic tale of "A Christmas Carol" to life through dramatic performances. They've embodied the characters of Scrooge, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and the Cratchit family, showcasing their acting skills and understanding of the story.
