Last week we read the traditional tale 'The Gingerbread Man' and enjoyed joining in with the repeated phrase "Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!". This week we read the story 'Stickman' by Julia Donaldson.
In Maths we have been continuing to focus on one shape each week, thinking about triangles and rectangles and learning how many sides and corners they have. We continue to look at positional language to describe where items are.
In Phonics we have been learning about the sounds 'i' (insect, igloo, invitation) and 'n' (nest, nurse, nose). We continue to search for rhyming words in the books that we read.
We have been practising our cutting skills, trying hard to make sure that we are holding the scissors safely in one hand and using the other hand to hold the paper as we cut along the lines.Â
We enjoyed decorating the Christmas tree, taking our turn to put the baubles and tinsel on the tree.
We continue to practise for our Christmas performance, learning the words and actions for the songs that we will be singing.
