This week, Year 3 has been a whirlwind of discovery! In Science, we've been zooming into the fascinating world of friction. Our mad scientists conducted thrilling experiments testing different surfaces and objects to see how well they slide (or not!). Maths lessons buzzed with activity as we mastered the art of measuring in metres, centimetres, and millimetres. From ruler acrobatics to estimating everyday objects, we've conquered the world of length! And in English, we transformed into wordsmiths, crafting vivid descriptions of Professor Grimstone from the story 'There's a Pharaoh in our Bath' using Thinglink to support our writing.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Our next focus in Maths is Mass, looking at grams, kilograms as well as reading different scales.
Writing - We will be making our own Papyrus paper and writing a set of instructions to explain how we made it.
Reading - Our next reading skill is inference looking at characters feelings and what we can understand about their feelings from what we have read in the text.
History - In History we will be learning about how the pyramids were built.
Science - To describe the effects of magnets.
