In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about temperature and data collection, focusing on tallies and pictographs as well as block, venn and carroll diagrams.Â
Writing - we have learnt the features of a non-chronological report, focusing on using the present tense, statement sentences and sub-headings.
History - in our topic, How did we learn to fly?, the children have looked at the Wright Brothers and how they came to be the first people to fly an aeroplane.
Science - the children have started their topic of Living Habitats and looked at what makes something alive, once alive and never alive.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be finishing off our topic on data collection before starting to look at fractions.
Reading - we will look at different styles of vocabulary and inference questions and working our how to find the answers in the text.
History - in our topic, How did we learn to fly?, the children will investigating why Bessie Coleman was a significant figure in the world of flight.
Science - we will be looking at different habitats and thinking about which animals might live there.
