It has been fantastic to see the children come back to school after the Christmas break with such a positive attitude towards their work.
In English we have been reading the book 'Meerkat Mail' and have written a diary entry about Sunny's week . When writing we tried hard to remember to start each of the days of the week with a capital letter. In maths we have been adding and subtracting to 20 by using a number line as well as finding fact families. For example, 16 +4 = 20, 4 +16 = 20, 20 - 16 = 4 and 20 - 4 = 16. In computing we have started learning about algorithems and have been making and following instructions. The children have loved talking about their favourite toys and finding out about toys in living memory in our unit of work looking at how toys have changed. In art we have been making rubbings using the indoor and outdoor environment.

Maths: In maths we will be adding and subtracting by counting on, then moving onto learning about 2D shapes.
Science: In science we will be investigating weather and seasonal changes.
History: In history we will be exploring the question 'How have toys changed?'
Computing: In computing we will be learning about coding.
