Year 4 are enjoying reading our new Power of Reading text called 'The Secret Explorers and the Rainforest Rangers'. The children have enjoyed researching features of a blog post and creating their own blog posts as the characters in the text. In Reading we have been working hard on further developing our prediction and inference skills, and have especially enjoyed reading and exploring the first chapter of 'The Tale of Despereaux'. In Maths, we have been working on developing our multiplication skills and exploring different strategies for multiplying. During Science lessons, we have started working on our new topic called 'Energy, Electricity and Circuits'. And in Geography, we learned about what is a biome and really enjoyed creating our 'Layers of Rainforest' information booklets.
Over the next week, we will be learning:
Maths - The children will be working on solving division expressions by using their multiplication knowledge.
Writing - We will continue working on our Power of Reading text 'The Secret Explorers and the Rainforest Rangers' and write diary entries with a purpose to inform.
Geography - We will explore who uses the rainforest and the people who live there.
Science - In Science, we will further investigate different components of a circuit.
