We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our parents and guardians for coming to parent's evening and to our parents who took part in our first online parent's evening. All the year 3 teachers enjoyed sharing your wonderful children's progress.
What a busy and exciting autumn term it has been in Year 3! We've been so impressed with the children's fantastic effort and enthusiasm across all subjects. Seeing their knowledge grow and their love of learning flourish has been wonderful.
Our budding scientists have had a blast getting their hands dirty (literally!) while experimenting with rocks and soils. From identifying different rock types to investigating soil composition, they've shown real curiosity and a talent for observation. We've seen some future geologists in the making!
History has come to life this term as we've journeyed back in time to explore the mighty Roman Empire. The children have been fascinated by stories of emperors, the invasion of the Britans and everyday Roman life. They've learned about the Empire's vast reach and its lasting impact on our world. Ask them about their favorite Roman fact – you might be surprised by what they know!
In maths, we've been tackling the tricky world of measurement. The children have worked hard to understand and use units of distance, weight, and capacity.
A huge well done to all of Year 3 for their incredible efforts this term! We're so proud of everything they've achieved.
In the next term, we will be learning:
Maths - The children will be looking at adding and subtracting money.
Writing - Our text will be "First to the Top" and we will write a diary entry.
Science - Our Science topic that we are looking at in the next half term will be "Light and shadows"
