This half term our theme is 'Real Life Superheroes', such as police officers, firefighters, doctors, nurses, dentists, carers, vets, teachers and more!
In Maths this term we will be focusing on one number each week. In the past two weeks we have been focusing on numbers 4 and 5, while recapping what we can recall about our previous focus numbers, 0, 1, 2 and 3. We have also been thinking about how we can represent numbers, such as drawing 4 circles, 4 lines and 4 swirls.
In Phonics we have been learning about the phonemes (individual sounds) 'k' , found in 'kite', 'kit' and 'ketchup' and 'e' found in 'elephant', 'envelope' and 'elbow'.
Every week we work on our segmenting and blending skills, which help us to break down the different sounds in words and then blend them together again to remake the word. This helps to develop reading and writing skills.
In R.E. we continue to learn about different festivals that people celebrate and have been looking at Holi.
In Music we have been listening to different instruments and talking about what part of our bodies we use to play them, such as out hands or mouths.
We enjoyed celebrating the end of our 'Real Life Superhero' theme this half term by taking part in a superhero dress up day!
