Year 4 has been buzzing this week! In English, our young authors have been channelling their inner adventurers, crafting fantastic informal letters inspired by the captivating world of "Arthur and the Golden Rope." We've seen some truly imaginative and engaging pieces!
Maths has seen us diving deep into the world of decimals. The children have worked incredibly hard, mastering various methods and building a strong foundation for future mathematical adventures. We've been exploring writing tenths and hundredths as well as comparing nad ordering decimals.
Our Geography explorers have been grappling with a fascinating question: is it better to buy local or imported food? They've planned and written their own disciplinary enquiries, weighing up the pros and cons of "food miles" and considering the impact on our environment. It's been a thought-provoking journey!
Finally, our budding scientists have been busy investigating the relationship between volume and distance. Through hands-on investigation, they've discovered how these two concepts are interconnected, leading to some exciting discoveries!
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Decimals
Writing - Arthur and the Golden Rope - Writing a script with the purpose to entertain
Geography - Where does food come from - What does sustainable food mean?
Science - Energy: Sounds and Vibrations - Describe pitch and how to change it
