Reception has been buzzing with activity over the past two weeks! Last week, we delved into the delightful story of 'Dear Zoo,' sparking lively discussions about the various animals and why we would or wouldn't keep them. Our budding authors then created their own 'Dear Zoo' pages, complete with lift-the-flap surprises, which we compiled into our very own class books! We also explored the fascinating world of zoo animals, learning all sorts of interesting facts. In maths, we became expert weighers, using balance scales and descriptive language to compare the weights of different objects.
This week, we've been on a prehistoric adventure with 'Harry and the Dinosaurs'! We've had great fun describing different dinosaurs and creating 'guess who' games, challenging our friends to identify the dinosaur from our descriptive clues. In maths, we've been mastering a new addition method, using number lines to count forward and solve calculations. We've also been busy designing our own bookmarks, ready for some exciting sewing next week. To round off the week, we've been learning about the significance of Easter, exploring the reasons behind the celebrations and listening to the beginning of the Easter story.
