In English we have been reading the book 'Lila and the Rain'. We have described the character of Lila and retold the story in a booklet. In maths we have started exploring multiplication. We have been making equal groups and equal rows. In science we have been using our knowledge of mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians to group and compare animals. Last week the children were very excited to make their moving monsters. They all had wheels, an axle and a string to pull it along. In geography we have been exploring what the weather is like. We made wind streamers to find out which direction the wind was blowing and explored shadows.
Spring 2:
Maths - We will exploring 2D and 3D shape as well as identifying and continuing shape patterns and sequences. We will also be exploring measuring height and length using non standard and standard units. Towards the end of this half term we will be reviewing all the maths learnt so far this academic year.

Geography - In geography we will be answering the question 'What is the weather like in the UK?'
Science - After half term we will be comparing animals.
DT: In DT we will be exploring axels and using our knowledge to design and make a moving vehicle. We will also be exploring how to join fabric to make a hand puppet.
