Year 6 have had another busy and exciting couple of weeks! In reading, we have been exploring different types of poetry and focusing on improving our pronunciation and expression when reading aloud. Maths has seen us delve into the world of fractions, learning how to simplify, compare and order them. Our writing lessons have been inspired by our class text, "Holes," with everyone creating their own imaginative narratives. Science has been a journey through the natural world! We've been classifying animals and have now moved onto exploring the fascinating plant kingdom. In art, we've been busy painting our amazing 3D designs, adding vibrant colours and textures. Finally, history has taken us back in time to the Sikh Empire, where we've been examining historical sources and evaluating different interpretations of this period.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - adding and subtracting fractions
Writing - writing a persuasive leaflet based on a chapter in Holes.
Reading - focusing on vocabulary and understanding of the text.
Science - We will be moving onto our new topic - Light and Reflection
