Year 5 have enjoyed another exciting couple of weeks. We've been honing our persuasive skills in English. The children researched different products and created their own persuasive adverts. From catchy slogans to compelling visuals, they showcased their creativity and ability to convince an audience. Our art lessons have also taken an imaginative turn with the creation of 3D maps. Inspired by the Marauder's Map in Harry Potter and Grayson Perry's "Map Of Days," the children have used a variety of materials to build detailed models using their own creative ideas. Science has been equally engaging this week. We conducted a fascinating dissolving experiment, observing how different substances (skittles and sugar cubes) react when placed in water. It was a hands-on learning experience that sparked curiosity and excitement!
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - Multplication and division
Writing - Our new class text, 'The Last Bear' and writing a setting description
Geography - Our new topic, 'What is life like in The Alps?' Beginning with the location of The Alps
Science - Our new topic, 'Properties and Changes.'
