In Year 5, we have had an exciting and productive time recently! In English, we've been creatively planning our own chapters for our class text, The Explorer. In Maths, we have completed our measurement topic and have started exploring the perimeter and area of composite shapes. Our Computing lessons have been a hit, with the children becoming coding experts using Lego; they've successfully built and animated a bus and a cable car. In Science, we've embarked on a fascinating journey through our new topic, the human timeline. Meanwhile, in Geography, we've begun investigating the unique and diverse environments of deserts.
Well done for sports day this afternoon. The entire year group made us proud - they should be very proud of their accomplishments.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - We will be continuing with area and perimeter.
Writing - In English we will be writing a narrative piece based on our text 'The Explorer'.
Geography - We will be continuing our new topic, 'Would you like to live in the desert?'
Science - In Science we will be continuing with our new topic, 'human timeline'.
