The first 2 weeks of Summer 2 have been an exciting journey of discovery! We embarked on a fantastic adventure with "Astro Girl," learning about Astrid's passion for space. After reading and discussing the story, the children put on their thinking caps and crafted creative speech bubbles for the characters, utilising their phonics skills to write the sounds they heard and form letters accurately.
In maths we have been mastering subtraction, practicing "jumping back" on a number line to solve problems.
They've also taken to the skies in a different way – exploring aerial views of the school and using them to create maps, a skill that came in handy when they designed treasure hunts for their friends!
The children have also became mini-scientists, investigating the fascinating world of buoyancy. They gathered a variety of classroom objects, made predictions about whether each would float or sink, and then put their theories to the test.
