In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - we have been recapping all of the learning we have been working hard on all year.
Writing - the children have been learning about the features of a recipe before planning, writing and then editing our own one.
Geography - in our topic, What is it like to live by the coast?, the children have looked at recapping the United Kingdom, its four countries and capital cities as well as the seas and ocean surrounding it.
Science - in our topic, Live Cycles, the children have been looking at the life cycles of humans and different animals.
Forest school - Saffron and Emerald classes have had a great time looking at life cycles of frogs in our pond as well as conducting bug hunts and investigating why trees have different shaped leaves.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will continue to recap learning completed throughout the year, starting with place value and the four written methods of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Writing - we will be looking at adverbs, specifically those that show how someone is feeling as they do something.
Geography - in our topic, What is it like to live by the coast?, the children will look at the features of the coast - e.g - sand, cliff, stack, arch, island etc
Science - we will be looking at growth and investigating how our height changes as we get older.
