YEAR 3

Year 3 have been working hard since returning from half term. This week in maths, we finished our chapter on addition and subtraction. We're now confident in adding and subtracting three-digit numbers, and we're ready for our next challenge! In English, we're working towards writing a setting description next week. This week, we read The Rhythm of the Rain and discussed the different ways the author described the setting. We're excited to put our own setting descriptions into practice next week! In Geography, we learned about erosion this week. We watched a sand demonstration to show how erosion happens, and we used Now Press Play audio activity to immerse ourselves in the learning. We had a great time learning about this important topic!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:

Maths -  We will be starting our Multiplication and Division chapter focusing on the 3, 4 and 8 times tables.

Writing - Next week we are going to be writing a setting description based on our new text 'The Rhythm of the Rain'.

Reading - We will be looking at the reading skill of prediction based on an extract.

Geography -  We are enjoying the start of our 'Misty Mountains Winding Rivers' topic learning about Tectonic plates.

Science -  Children will be learning to compare natural and human made rocks.
