YEAR 2

In year 2, we have been learning:

Maths - the children have been learning the 2, 5 and 10 times tables.

Writing - we have recapped using the past tense and started to look at the features of a diary entry.

Reading - in reading this week, the children have focused on the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.

History - in our new topic, Land Ahoy, the children have received a treasure map and have gone on a hunt for their gold!

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:

Maths - we will be continuing to look at multiplication before moving onto looking at arrays.

Writing - the children will be planning, writing and then editing their diary entry, as if they were Captain Cook.

Reading - we will continue to focus on identifying the differences between fiction and non-fiction texts.

History - in our topic, Land Ahoy, the children will be looking at Captain Cook and learning about why he was a significant person.

Science - in our topic Sustainability, the children will be looking what recycling is and why it is important.
