We hope you all had a lovely half term break. 

Before half term the children enjoyed creating a whole class piece of artwork where they applied all the skills and techniques explored over the term.

In maths this week we have started work on subtraction. The children have been solving subtraction calculations using the crossing out method and using part part whole models. In English we have started our new writing journey based on Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have loved acting out the story and using exclamation marks and speech bubbles to explore what the characters might say. In science we have been sorting animals into groups of  mammals, fish, birds, reptiles and amphibians.

PE timetable for Year 1:

Yellow Class: Wednesday and Thursday

Blue Class: Monday and Thursday

Indigo Class: Monday and Wednesday

Purple Class: Monday and Thursday
