It has been a busy first week back after half term. In English, we've been channeling our inner Greta Thunbergs and preparing powerful speeches about climate change. Get ready to be inspired as we take to the stage and raise awareness about this critical issue. Meanwhile, in Maths, we've been diving headfirst into the world of decimals, mastering the art of writing and comparing decimals. Geography took us on a voyage of discovery this week as we explored the wonders of our oceans and have discussed why the ocean is so important to our world. In Science, we've embarked on a fascinating journey to understand the properties and changes of materials. Buckle up for some exciting experiments as we test, observe, and discover the amazing transformations that different materials can undergo! In DT, we've begun looking at different mechanisms that you might find in pop-up books.  Get ready to be amazed by the imaginative stories and ingenious designs that will pop up from the pages. 

Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:

Maths - We will be starting to add and subtract decimals. 

Writing - We will be writing our speeches on climate change based on our class text 'The Last Bear'. 

Reading - In Reading we will be focusing on a mixture of retrieval, inference and prediction. 

History -  We will be continuing to explore why our oceans are important. 

Science - We will be continuing to focus on different everyday materials. 

DT - We will starting to design our pop-up books.
