In year 2, we have been learning:
Maths - the children have been learning about identifying the different coins and notes and starting to add them together to total increasing amounts.
Writing - we are learning the features of a character description whilst looking at the book Katie and the Bathers.
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children are recapping the countries, capitals and features of the United Kingdom.
Science - in their topic of Micro-habitats, the children have looked at what mini-beasts you might find in a woodland micro-habitat and then sorting them using a key.
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - we will be continuing our topic on money by calculating the amount of change needed when you buy different items.
Writing - we will continue our writing journey by planning, writing and then editing our character descriptions.Â
Reading - we will look at different styles of vocabulary and inference questions and working our how to find the answers in the text.
Geography - in our topic, Why is our world wonderful?, the children will look at the human and physical features that are in our local area.
Science - we will be using our scientific enquiry skills to make a "wormery" and then throughout the week we will observe what the worms do in their habitats.
