On Monday Year 3 had their Ancient Egyptian workshop, the children loved seeing all the artefacts and breaking the curse of the tomb! In Maths we have started our new chapter looking at money, we've been counting money as well as starting to add different amounts. Within our English lessons we have started reading 'First to the Top' A story about Edmund Hilary's journey to the top of Mount Everest, we've sequenced the key events of the climb up the mountain as well as creating freeze frames to show these also. Check our our fantastic acting below- some even incorporated props!
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be learning:
Maths - We will be looking at how to subtract amounts of money as well as calculating change and challenging ourselves with some money word problems.
Writing - Next week we will be writing a diary entry as Edmund Hilary describing what it was like for him to climb Mount Everest.
Geography - Children will be focusing on identifying key geographical features of Antarctica.
Science - We have started our new topic about Light and shadow. Children will be looking at whether light reflects on different surfaces.
