What a wonderful few weeks year 3 have had!
During our writing cycle, we have been looking at non-chronological reports. We have picked apart the features that are included in them and we have discussed how this genre of writing is different from other genres. This week, we have written our own non-chronological reports all about the water cycle. The children have shown a really great understanding of the process of the water cycle from their humanities lessons. We've thoroughly enjoyed reading the different reports. In order to publish our reports, we created a google site; in essence, the children created their own personal website with the information on it! Feel free to look at your child's report by going onto their google site via their chrome book.
In our science lessons, we have explore what magnets are and how they work. In order to do this, the children have been researching online to discover more about magnets. This has been through BBCBitesize and a range of educational videos. We have also been investigating about what is a magnetic material and what is not. We ensured our findings were correct by using a range of magnets and not just one type. This investigation was very fun!
Our humanities lessons have continued to focus on the water cycle. This week, we mainly focused on the five oceans of the world. We looked at where they are on a map as well as interesting facts about them. In order to complete the challenge of matching up different facts to the specific ocean, the children used their researching skills online to match them up.
A final WELL DONE for donating and raising so much money for Children in Need. Here are the designs of Pudsey using our donations.
