Computing is taught as a discrete subject, with meaningful cross-curricular links made where appropriate to enhance learning in other areas.
Our Computing curriculum is carefully designed to ensure that knowledge and skills are developed progressively as children move through the school. Each year builds on prior learning, enabling pupils to become increasingly confident, capable and responsible users of technology.
There is a strong emphasis on computer science and programming, alongside developing a clear understanding of how digital systems work and how technology is used in the modern world. Children also learn how to create content using a range of media and are taught how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly.
We use a combination of Purple Mash and Teach Computing to deliver our Computing curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6. These high-quality resources support a consistent and engaging approach to the subject, aligned with national expectations.
