2022!
It's been a stormy year. Hurricanes. Diseases. War. We need someone to save us. I thank the Lord that He sent His Son to be our Savior. It seems that there are constant storms in life but God gave us a way to experience peace and calm in the midst of these storms. This Christmas, pause to read His Word and let Him fill you again with the joy and peace that will be ours for eternity.
Becky has taken up crocheting and has made a lot of items for grandkids, nieces, friends, ... She spends her days as nanny for granddaughter Jamie which is absolutely the best! She still enjoys any good Lego project that comes along.
I (Steve) had an amazing time watching both the Artemis rocket roll out from the VAB and it's first launch! (See the pictures!!!) I have a new role at work with disaster relief so got to put in quite a few hours locally as well as in Fort Myers after the hurricanes helping out families.
Anthony (Gainesville FL) is working as a software engineer. He moved from a contracted position to the parent company this year but still gets to work from home. He has taken up making lightsabers if you ever need one. :) Isabel is working on her PhD with a very cool project involving wave motion.
Natalie and AJ (Orlando FL) keep busy with work, Jamie, friends and neighbors. Our granddaughter Jamie turned 1 in April. She is an absolute joy and we love to hang out with her. Natalie has a new office 'shed' in the back yard and works from home (handling pensions for Constellation) and AJ continues to work at St. Luke’s and did a great job building the new office space for Natalie.
Jacob and Mallory (Austin TX), We were thankful to visit Austin in February for baptism, July to babysit for a week and November for Thanksgiving. Emerson turned 1 on December 9. He is a fun boy to be around and loves to play! Jacob is moving to a new programming job in December and Mallory is now full time with Girl's Empowerment Network.
It always seems like we didn't do much until I start this letter. :) Marty & Pam visited in January and we had a great airboat ride and fresh rock crab. We spent a week in Cocoa Beach relaxing and enjoyed Wisconsin visitors Jon and Julie and kids. We had a visit from Joel and Jin and Tim. Becky's mom came to visit in May, November and December. We spent the July 4 holiday in Destin. September brought us Hurricane Ian and November brought Hurricane Nicole. Two families - eight people were forced to evacuate from Tampa and came to stay with Becky while I was in Indiana. After the storm, we had another family of 4 who lost their apartment to the floods from Ian stay with us for another 3 weeks.
The whole family was together for Thanksgiving in Austin. We picked our first homegrown pineapple and it was delicious. I was able to travel with Natalie and Jamie to Joel and Jin's wedding in July. Becky and I went to the broadway show Jesus Christ Superstar here in Orlando.
The Lord has continued to bless us in so many ways even through the difficulties that life presents. We really miss all of you so please plan a visit to sunny Orlando Florida and enjoy the three available rooms we have! (Pool is included.) :)
Safe through the storms, Steve & Becky
