Christmas 2017

So many things, big and little, happen in the course of a year. Change is constant. In the midst of all this activity, God remains the same. His love for people has remained steady and the grace of Christ never changes. How blessed we are to be able to live each day in the sure and certain hope of eternity!

Becky and I have had a good year. After a busy work year in 2016, I was able to enjoy an international sand volleyball tournament with Phil in Fort Lauderdale, a trip to Austin with Anthony in March, and a trip to Honduras in May. Becky traveled around for a few weeks in Iowa this summer and we enjoyed the Lehenbauer Reunion in July. In August, she started working at Servpro and is experiencing a regular 8-5 job!

Hurricane Irma impacted our area in September but the Lord protected us again through the storm. Connie was visiting but was able to escape with Mikaela and the kids before the storm arrived. Phil weathered the storm with us which made it more ‘fun.’ :) With so many natural disasters around the U.S. this year, we pray that you have remained safe as well.

It still is a shock to us but Anthony turned twenty-one this year. He is now a junior at the University of Florida with a major in Digital Arts and Sciences. We do get to see him often but he lives year round in Gainesville.

In March, we were thrilled that Natalie said ‘Yes’ to AJ Leupold. On June 9, 2018, they will get married here in Oviedo. Natalie is still enjoying her work calculating pensions while volunteering with high school and young adult ministries. AJ is Assistant Director of Maintenance at St. Luke’s. The big purchase this year was a house which will become home for them after the wedding!

Jacob and Mallory continue to enjoy life in Austin. Jacob is teaching high school math and Mallory helps clients with marketing and communications. They traveled to quite a few weddings of friends this year so covered some ground around the U.S. Their corgi, Maybie, is still a favorite!

We enjoy having Mom and Dad here and all of the visitors that come to see them. Dad turned 92 in June, Mom 87 in August and they celebrated their 65th Anniversary in November. It was a good year for parties!

Call. Write. Email. Visit! We pray that Christ continues to bless you in 2018. No matter what this new year brings, we are thankful for the peace that He brings today and every day. Merry Christmas!!!
